We’ve just returned from a short holiday in Western Australia. Perth is indeed a beautiful city with lots going for it. There was only one downside, for me anyway, when I attempted to check out the state art gallery on Tuesday. Oops … “sorry … you have missed us as we are closed today … back tomorrow!” Not much use if you’re actually leaving the next day. It turns out WA, along with Victoria, don’t consider it necessary to allow the public access to their state galleries on Tuesdays, unlike the rest of the country which keeps its galleries open all year around except for one or two days like Easter and Christmas. Very disappointing WA and VIC! Are gallery staff wages really so high on Tuesdays?
